Community consent and accountability
Community accountability is extremely important to us. We encourage good consent practices at all levels (beginner - intermediate - advanced - instructor - organizer). Unfortunately there are some individuals in the community who have demonstrated a pattern of harmful behavior with regard to consent. For this reason, we have opted to maintain two lists of individuals engaging in such harmful patterns (please see descriptions below). These lists will never be made public and are primarily intended for internal use in our org in order to better promote safety at our events and classes. On a rare and case by case basis, we may privately disclose individual persons who may belong to one or more lists.
Policy regarding disclosure
Official requests for disclosure of an individual’s status on a list can be requested under the following conditions:
The requester must be a past, current, or potential future attendee of our events and social gatherings, or have a legitimate business or personal interest in engaging with us or our partner organizations
The requester must have a specific concern regarding the individual in question AND the concern must be in relation to our events and social gatherings (or those of our partner organizations).
Example: “I want to know if X individual is on a list because I am considering dating X individual”. This is an insufficient concern for us to disclose. The concern is unrelated to our events or business activities.
Example: “I want to know if X individual is on a list because I am attending Y Wicked Jester event/party and am concerned for my safety at Y Wicked Jester event/party. This is a legitimate safety concern related to our events or business activities.
The requester must provide sufficient identifying information about the individual in question (a fetlife handle, a scene name and some other physical identifiers, an email address, a full legal name). If a sufficient match cannot be found, no information will be provided

Watch List
Individuals may be added to the “Watch List” according to the following conditions:
The individual must demonstrate a pattern of harmful behavior
The pattern of harmful behavior must unequivocally violate our Event Code of Conduct and/or fall under the incident categories as defined in our Consent Policy
We must minimally receive multiple second-hand reports or one first-hand report of the individual’s behavior. Valid reports include:
Second hand witness statements
First hand witness statements
Admissions of fault by the individual in any public arena (including social media)
Private admissions of fault made by the individual directly to any of our staff or representatives
Police reports
Official reports filed with any of our partner organizations or acknowledged organizations in the local area
Our leadership must unilaterally approve adding the individual to the list
Additions to the Watch List will stay for 1 year. The period may be renewed if continued behavior is reported to us. Individuals on the Watch List are barred from any type of business partnership with us (including teaching and organizing events) and may be barred from specific events as an attendee.
Ban List
Individuals may be added to the “Ban List” according to the following conditions:
The individual must demonstrate an egregious pattern of harmful behavior
The pattern of harmful behavior must unequivocally violate our Code of Ethical Conduct and/or fall under the incident categories as defined in our Consent Policy
We must minimally receive multiple first-hand reports of the individual’s behavior. Valid reports include:
First hand witness statements
Admissions of fault by the individual in any public arena (including social media)
Private admissions of fault made by the individual directly to any of our staff or representatives
Police reports
Official reports filed with any of our partner organizations or acknowledged organizations in the local area
The individual must demonstrate a pattern of unwillingness to engage in any mediation, resolution, education, or remedy presented to them by one or more of these parties:
The affected / harmed party
Wicked Jester or any of our partner organizations / recognized organizations in the local area
Our leadership must unilaterally approve adding the individual to the list
For certain very egregious offenses such as sexual assault, aggravated battery, or doxxing, we may add an individual to the Ban List with only a single first-hand report
Additions to the Ban List will stay for up to 3 years. The period may be renewed if continued behavior is reported to us. Individuals on the Ban List are barred from engaging with us in any and all respects including but not limited to teaching / organizing events, attending our classes or events, entering any properties owned or operated by us. We may share individuals on the Ban List with partner organizations and other relevant organizations in the area.
In some cases, we may add an individual to the Ban List indefinitely. Typically this is reserved for individuals who:
Intentionally continue to cause harm during the investigation of an incident
Threaten or pursue retaliation during investigation of an incident or as a response to an initial ban
Have demonstrated many years of harmful behavior with irrevocable harm done to multiple parties
